Our company has previously been involved in the export and sales of vehicles, furniture, and home appliances to various Asian countries. However, in recent years, our export business has faced significant challenges due to the global pandemic, logistics disruptions, rising fuel prices, and a weak yen. In Sri Lanka in particular, the 2019 terrorist bombings, the subsequent lockdown, a rapid depreciation of the currency, and a decline in production due to failed agricultural policies all combined to severely impact tourism, industry, and agriculture, effectively leading to default. As a result, many foreign companies chose to withdraw or close their businesses, and our business also faced a difficult situation. However, based on our many years of experience with Sri Lanka, we are confident that the country has the power to bounce back. Each and every citizen has begun taking action toward recovery, and the country’s beautiful World Heritage Sites, abundant nature, traditional culture, and warm people have not lost their charm.
